Two Cities / Two Counties: A Polish Canadian Exchange

As part of an exchange exhibition Eye Level Gallery will host the work of approximately 20 Polish contemporary artists. The exhibition will include the work of Jan Swidzinski, Anna Kutera and Zofia Kulik as well as a sampling of new work by younger less established Polish artists. The show consisted of the work of twenty contemporary Polish artists and represents for many of us, a unique opportunity to engage in a first-hand interaction which would not normally be available. Contemporary art practice occurring outside of the ‘western’ milieu has often been inaccessible or less than obvious to the North American eye. Such apparent gaps in our cultural understanding are gradually beginning to close as contact increases between artists in the international sphere.
