Naked Eye Cinema
This exciting package of films has been touring Canada with its curator Carl Michael George. The package featured a collection of Super 8 films sharing a fondness for irony and an evasion of the constrictions of nomenclature. The films speak for themselves and are aesthetically linked through the production process – films produced against all odds; with great success! The diverse subject matter includes eroticism (Wrecked Cannibal Island); decadence (Nocturnes); a Borger short story (Death and the Compass); civil disobedience (Corrective Measures); and ideals production (Brains by Revlon) to name a few. Naked Eye Cinema is oriented towards developing new audiences for contemporary independent film, and supporting new and emerging filmmakers through exhibition.
