Exchange with YYZ - David Clarkson / Magdalen Celestino / Brian Groombridge / Louise Noguchi - For this exhibition curator Bruce Grenville chose to focus on the latest developments in sculpture taking place in Toronto. The work that was chosen for the exhibition represents a significant contribution towards the production of sculptural allegory and reveals the variety and quality of work engaged in this mode of expression. Grenville asserted that these artists represent, “a reaction against current trends and against abstract sculpture. The issues raised by the new work are about representation and materials.”
