Gerald Ferguson - A restaging of Gerald Ferguson’s 1972 sound performance Choral Reading. This presentation involved twenty-six readers, each representing a letter of the alphabet who used Ferguson’s Standard Corpus bookwork as a script. This was the first time that the work has been presented in Halifax since its premiere in 1972 at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design / “Demi Monde”  - A group of 5 musicians who are all experiences performing artists. Members of “Demi Monde” have worked with groups such as the Moral Lepers and Mama Quilla II. Their experiences range from formal musical training to involvement with experimental music to work with dub musicians. The members of “Demi Monde” are Rita McKeough, Susan Sturman, Elaine Stef, Marian Lydbrooke, and Gabrielle Vandervelde / Dan Lander - UNMASC. A SEXTETE is an attempt to investigate the distinctions between mediated cultural models and personal experiences as they relate to masculine gender roles and behavior. The premise of the work stems from the belief that gender roles are culturally shaped and biologically determined.
